Renee’s little adventure to the pre-school yesterday really knocked her out. It drained what little energy she had and brought on a slight fever. The warm weather yesterday also sparked a sinus headache. There was a work party last night that she had every good intention of attending but her strength was sapped. She’s still feeling it today.
This afternoon, Renee’s Mom who has been here since just past Thanksgiving has returned to NJ. I had to wait until she left to say this, you know all that family tension and stuff, but she was a …, a …, a … huge help. You didn’t really think I was going to say something less than nice, did you? I don’t want her getting a big head about it but she did an outstanding job holding down the fort while Renee and I slugged through Cleveland. This, at least, allowed Cassidy to keep a little stability to her schedule.Having Renee’s Mom close by for support during the initial phase of recovery was also extremely helpful. THANK YOU Gale!
Cassidy was disappointed she couldn’t travel back with her Sugar Nana but no matter how much the girls thought this to be a good idea, I think Renee’s better with her close by. Now that her mom has gone home, she needs that other mother-daughter bond working full-time.
Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Renee’s Emergency Room outing which turned into a five day stay over. It was the forewarning to this year’s medical events.
We were scheduled to head east on Monday but for the second year in a row Renee's hospital visits have trumped our Holiday visits. We just canceled the kennels for Polly and we’re hunkering down here for the Winter Solstice and the foreseeable future.
Renee’s current mood – delivered with an Elvis twitch:
